Aromas Water's NewsSplash! Third Quarter 2021

Although we continue to adhere to the State guidelines for the pandemic and require masks when entering our office when we are open, it has been great to welcome some of you as you have come into our office recently. Despite being behind masks, we can still hear the smile in your voices!

We are delighted to announce that we are once again recipients of the California Special District Association Transparency Award for 2021; this is a triennial award and was last achieved in 2018 and for several years prior to that. This award indicates that we are committed to operating in a transparent and ethical manner to provide the local community with potable water.

As we move into Fall, we are all hoping for some copious rainfall this coming winter, but unfortunately, that does not look likely. As you are probably fully aware, Governor Newsom recently declared drought emergency conditions across California and urged all citizens to make a voluntary reduction in water use of up to 15% where possible to protect all our health and safety, protect water reserves and bolster conservation efforts. California is experiencing its worst drought since the late 1800s, as measured by both lack of precipitation and high temperatures. August 2021 was the driest and hottest August on record since reporting began and the water year that ended at the end of September 2021 was the second driest on record.
